Will he or won't he veto the legislative pay raises? This seems to be the question that thousands of Louisianans have regarding Governor Bobby Jindal. Jindal has said that he will not stand in the way of a 100% pay increase that the state legislature recently voted for itself. In my opinion, this decision could shape Governor Jindal's political future in Louisiana. After running on a platform of "reforming Louisiana politics," how can he stand idly by while the people of Louisiana are outraged? Governor Jindal has publicly stated his opposition to the enormous pay raise, but fears retaliation if he veto's the bill. Retaliation in the form of his bills not getting passed in the future. I believe, he should stick to his guns, stand by his constituents, and do the right thing. Veto this bill Mr. Jindal! If the legislator's want to commit political suicide by standing in the way of reform, then let them. You took an oath office, and you promised the people of Louisiana reform. Don't fall victim to the "good old boy," bullying. It's widely known that people resist change, but Louisiana is at a crossroads, and it's up to Governor Jindal to decide which direction this state will go. Will you allow this state to continue down the same old path? Can you live with yourself knowing that the police and firefighters received a pay raise of about $17 a week, compared to the proposed legislative pay raise of about $398 a week? I personally have faith in the Governor, and want to believe he will do the right thing. So what will it be Governor? Is this going to be same old Louisiana or will you stand up and let the voices of your constituency guide you to do the right thing?
The ball is in your court Governor Jindal, it's time to show the world that the "new" Louisiana is to be taken seriously.
Do the right thing!

Great post J, enjoyed your insightful comments. Just wish the Governor was listening to you and countless others across the state, we had such high hopes, its disheartening to see him fail us in this manner.
